Friulano

Friuli Colli Orientali

denominazione di origine controllata

Grapes
Friulano.

Vineyard
Hills of the Sottomonte estate in the municipality of Buttrio (UD). Predominantly marly clayey soil.

Winemaking
Once they have reached complete maturation in the vineyard, the bunches of grapes are harvested and quickly sent to winemaking which takes place through soft pressing and fermentation at a controlled temperature (18°C) to encourage the formation of the characteristic aromatic notes.

Maturation
In steel sur lies with periodic resuspension and then, after bottling, in the sixteenth-century underground bottle cellar of the family estate.

Visual exam
Bright straw yellow color with pleasant greenish reflections

Olfactory examination
Inviting bouquet with characteristic hints of acacia flowers, thyme, chamomile and fragrant fruit.

Taste test
Soft and savory sip, rich in freshness and minerality which ends with the typical slightly bitter almond note.

Pairings
A wine of great substance and distinction, characterized by the enveloping sensations from which a great elective affinity arises, in terms of food and wine, with white meats and San Daniele ham. Friulano is an extraordinary white wine for the whole meal but does not disappoint at all in classic “white” combinations: first courses, fish and appetizers.

Longevity
It reaches the peak of expression of the vine in the first two years and can easily exceed four years in the bottle.

Service
Taste chilled (12 °C).
